The Regional Directorate of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (RDSDE), Himachal Pradesh, was formally notified in December 2018 and started functioning in May 2019. The Directorate is presently located at The Cleremont Building, Chaura Maidan Road, Chaura Maidan, Shimla, Himachal Pradesh – 171004.
RDSDE Shimla functions under the Directorate General of Training (DGT), Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE), Government of India. The Directorate plays an important role in coordinating and supporting various skill development, vocational training, and apprenticeship-related activities in the state of Himachal Pradesh.
RDSDE Shimla coordinates with various stakeholders involved in skill development, including industries, the State Directorate of Technical Education, Vocational & Industrial Training, Himachal Pradesh Kaushal Vikas Nigam (HPKVN), the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) Shimla Unit, and other concerned organizations.
The Directorate also works in coordination with Central and State Government departments and organizations for the effective implementation, supervision, and monitoring of various schemes and programmes of the Directorate General of Training (DGT).
Through close coordination with different stakeholders, RDSDE Shimla contributes to strengthening the skill development ecosystem in Himachal Pradesh, enhancing the employability of youth, meeting the skilled manpower requirements of industries, and supporting the effective implementation of various Government of India skill development and entrepreneurship initiatives.
